Diffeo collaborative intelligence for Microsoft Exchange and Windows Shared Drives

It seems almost everyone has a love-hate relationship with their email. At Diffeo we've been studying executives and decision makers who depend on email, and are discovering patterns. Certain aspects of email put the greatest load on the interfaces between humans and machines.

Teams working with email have fascinating coping strategies. Most teams have an evolving mixture of chat, email, and ad hoc project management and knowledge management tools. We see people preemptively filing and manually organizing email in anticipation of future search tasks. The greatest cognitive load comes from emergent situations that require new processes or new discovery efforts. On certain emergent tasks, users search through old emails and reach out to colleagues to figure out the best course of action. This discovery phase can consume person-weeks of effort and incur significant risk.

Too often, critical knowledge is obscured by the volume of content an organization accumulates over time. Past learnings aren’t applied to current situations simply because they’re inaccessible, which leads to duplicated effort and wasted time.

Diffeo is chipping away at this burden by enabling machines to collaborate with people. Collaborative intelligence is how humans have learned from each other for many millennia, and now machines are starting to learn the same way. The benefits are dramatic. Instead of "getting lost on the Internet," business analysts are now focusing on understanding the whole story while the machine automatically digs for connections worthy of further analysis.

Today, we're announcing the general availability of a major expansion of our platform: complete integrations with Microsoft Exchange and Windows Shared Drives. These data systems rely on Active Directory (AD) to manage access control and permissions. The Diffeo Windows Crawler is a new component in the Diffeo platform, and it can join your AD domain.

Diffeo’s integrations with Microsoft Exchange and Windows Shared Drives allow you to fully leverage your organization’s existing knowledge. Now Diffeo can recommend critical insights from past emails right alongside your work. When you receive an incoming email, Diffeo will surface related emails that help you determine your course of action. And Diffeo helps you as you draft new emails by analyzing what you’re writing and recommending past emails alongside your work. Diffeo puts the collective knowledge of your organization at your fingertips, presenting critical insights and connections directly in your workflow.

The data flow relies on Diffeo's Yggdrasil system, which is the core of our Cloud Search system. Making Yggdrasil available for both private and public clouds has been a major focus area for several months.

We’re excited to launch this extension of the Diffeo agent, and we’re looking forward to adding more email-centric features to help users understand the whole story and expand their opportunity sets.
